Vuvu-tweaking.

Remember when I went to the opening games of the South African Premier League of soccer? Well, ‘The Most Beautiful Game’ is once again back in the spotlight of Cape Town as cross-town rivals Ajax and Santos are facing off at Greenpoint stadium in the Cape Town derby. We got ready for a little Friday night lights at the Slug & Lettuce Pub, a stones throw away from the stadium.
After enjoying some Savannahs, a group of about 20 of us walked over to our awesome seats in the stadium. The game ended in a dramatic 1-1 tie with the equalizing goal coming in the closing moments on a penalty. Once again, the fans were really into the game and the vuvuzelas were pure magic.

The following evening, our entire program was back in Greenpoint for our farewell dinner. I know, a little premature since it was a full month before we actually leave, but once finals month starts (yes, you read that correctly FINALS MONTH) it would be pretty impossible to get everyone together for an evening.
So, in a romantic 70’s wedding themed night we all bid farwell to InterStudy with delicious braai meats, a little drinkin’, an awards ceremony, and impromptu tweaking. I obviously got an award for going to the hospital in week one. Afterwards, the whole crew headed to a club called Assembly for live rock music and lung cancer from all the cigarettes being smoked. Besides the cancerous haze it was a lot of fun and the evening as a whole was really freaking awesome. To be expected with these tweak sticks.
